My name is Maia Moosmueller and I'm a ceramic artist that currently works in the Hudson Valley. The aim of my work is to bridge the gap between wheel thrown utilitarian work and conceptual sculpture. Wheel throwing is my preferred way of making and I use it as a form of meditation. When you throw you must think about where each part of your body is at any given moment, elbows, fingers, legs, feet, back. So focused on the physical everything else melts away.
